Human mind evolved in the world where uncertainty was dangerous. If you don't know (can't predict) whether a tiger is going to attack you - you're dead. If you can't predict the weather and the storm ruins your house and kills your cattle - you're dead. So our mind subconsciously treats "random" "luck" "variance" or anything we don't possess control of as smth dangerous. And if they failed (and they usually did) they told ppl it was because of their sins, bad carma or wrong sacrifice ritual, and that gave another run to an illusion that uncontrollable circumstances could still be managed.

Yes, I said this because I have a pro KanoPool opinion too. It was sarcasm meant to express my confusion as to why someone would be surprised to find pro Kano people in a Kano pool thread.
