If your wallet was on an exchange / service / mining pool / gambling site, it could be that you would be able to find it through this site, https://www.walletexplorer.com/

You stated that you have a hardware wallet NOW, which indicates that you didn't have one back then??

Which makes it much more likely that you might have stored it on an exchange. See if it gets you any results.

In your place I would contact the administration as soon as possible. This is a very serious problem and you have to solve it behind it will be too late. Your coins are in serious danger.
