In laymans terms, ARK wants to make it easier for ordinary people to use the blockchain. Heres how the ARK whitepaper explains it:

Ok, I just went back and read the articles from the links you've provided above. This part it says,

This link discribes it really good...as a usecase in the real world..maybe somewhere in the future...i guess most of all project tokens are now more speculative for trading them to make some money..it all will take time..
