Have you retried clearing the cache and cookies on your browser and reopen bittrex? It also happens to me whenever someone snags up my coins for sale and I want to cancel it. First thing i do is clear cache and cookies and if the balance still isn't listed, contact live chat and see whether they'd fix the problem. Also, it doesn't take months, but rather a few hours or even a week at most.

I've had this happen to me a few times. I 'd recommend the above; and/or try a different browser. Everytime I thought I lost something it was because my browser was loading a cached page. If that doesn't work, try a different device (like your phone) and if that still doesn't work then I'd definitely log a ticket.
