it started as a bet. forum user elrippo posted that he bets 0.5 btc that btc would not reach 4000 within this year. I took the bet and said if I win, I would donate his 0.5 btc and my 0.5 btc to poor children for xmas. that is how it started. it is of course way more than enough. bitcoiners are wonderful. and crazy. I had to quit going to work for a week to be able to get the logistic challenge done. I am working on it right now. it is crazy. I just thought I let you know.
