Much more than a simple name change. There were discussions about moving the coin to a new blockchain or creating a sister smart contract... not sure if this will be included in the announcement but the team has hinted multiple times that a smart contract token is already in the works.

has a date been nailed down yet on the announcement ? End of year was last I saw
