Despite the fact that this coin is technically far better than bitcoin, few people want to use BTG. It seems to me that people have long ceased to trust forks. All blindly believe in bitcoin

This is not a question of belief. BTG fails to impress community because of several snags accocated with new fork i.e buggy wallets, links to fake clients to name only a few.
