It's just a matter of waiting for lightning network to be in public operational condition. When that happens, the currency aspect of Bitcoin will get its use and appreciation that it deserves.

It will be an ultimate form of incentive for people to spend their coins, where they now complain that they don't spend any because of the fees and confirmation times. I however doubt that people miraculously will start spending.

People will always know that when they spend Bitcoin, that they very likely will miss out on further profits due to this market that doesn't stop with increasing, and honestly speaking, we can't blame them for thinking like that.
