It is going to take several days (about 3 if it is continuously working) if you are using a HDD disk (mechanical), It takes less than 10 hours however if you are using a SSD disk. There is a trick for accelerating the initial sync: bootstrapping: https://siawiki.tech/daemon/bootstrapping_the_blockchain

If the transaction is not shown in the Explorer, is because it was never really pushed to the network. Open a support ticket in Poloniex. The developing team is also working with some exchanges to try to help them solve their issues.
