How exactly? Based on the IP:PORT of the miner?

Its a GUI based, a certain remote app like Remote Desktop Connection in windows or VNC. you could also do file transfer to replace certain files if you don't want to do remote desktop.

Thank you for the reply, but I know what teamspeak is, I'm just wondering if I can only connect to claymore's miner using the claymore's miner remote management tool. With the tool you can restart the miner or edit the config, but I'd like to edit other files through that program or through the provided API as well.

Any ideas?

Team Viewer, not teamspeak. Team Viewer allows you to connect to remote computer and control keyboard mouse, so you can check your rig and reboot etc... if you want to use API and control remotely, then your rig would need to have accessible, static IP address.
