question for the vets here...

so I got all my money tied up in a few different exchanges....all of them are connected to a 2 factor authentication app on my mobile device. one is connected to authy and the others are connected to google authenticator.....when i initially set up the 2fa, i was under the impression that it was connected to the number on my device and that if i lost my phone, i would have no issue recovering the authenticator with a new device that shared the same phone number....

well, low and behold, my mobile device crashed today in the midst of a software update.....it's now telling me that i have to restore the phone to factory settings. if thats the case, then i can say goodbye to my 2fa apps...so i'm sending my phone in to a data recovery company to see if they can get all my data and apps recovered.

if my phone isn't able to be recovered, does this mean i will permanently be locked out of my accounts? theres no way, right? i seriously cannot afford to lose all my money right now. there has to be a way to verify myself and get back into my account, yea?

any help on this gut wrenching issue is greatly appreciated.

in the mean time, i will be losing a lot of sleep................................ Lips sealed

As far as I know, you can change your device for 2fa using other devices, but that is subjected to the verification processes of the various exchanges. Some would ask you for OTP's and some may ask for documentation (like Xapo). Your best bet is to install the verification apps on your desktop through emulators and restore access to your accounts using the apps on your desktop.
