All you need is not just the limit, but the discipline. It's useless to make a limit but you keep ignoring the limit and keep on gambling. When you've made a limit then you have to stop gambling after reaching that limit whether you win or lose. Do not just win and then you go beyond the limit you've made, it's the same with nonsense.
