The snapshot links provided in the original post from 18 Aug 2017 does not exist anymore, it was changed at the start of January 2018 by KikloV. Until we can have a new snapshot, you will need to download the whole blockchain to sync.
Please do not use the links provided for the snapshot, they are wrong now and have Zeitcoin Snapshot.

Excuse me for my ignorance, as I am new to crypto currencies and trying to learn quickly. When you say I need to download the entire blockchain to sync, could you give me any instructions or guidance as to where or how to do that? I apologize for asking such question most people know the answer to. I just don't want to leave my coins in coinsexchange for an extended period of time, as their website/ server is very slow and under maintenance off and on.

I am not new in crypto, and not consider myself ignorance, but I really feel the same as you....

I don't understand what it means and would need more guidance.

My wallet has been working fine until the beginning of this year.
Now I cannot be connected and I don't understand what to do
