Gambling is become bad if we use it as our hobbies or if we become addicted to it. Gambling is good in relieving your stress but make sure that it wouldn't lead this to addiction. Sometimes it is embarrassing but it's all done.

Yes i agree that it have gained a bad reputation over time and all this is because of the addicts. Anything when turns into addiction doesnt look good as if would be otherwise. Same is the case with gambling. Its not some sin or some bad thing. Its equivalent to a sport or game. It is a fun thing to do that brings enjoyment and relieves stress. But if it becomes addiction them then only it becomes overpowering. Or else i would never be ashamed of being a gambler because its just another fun game.
