You are not running GUN V1.3 then or you have firewall issues. GUN V1.3 will sync the entire block chain in about 70-75 minutes from day one - I know - I just did it last week. Most likely, your computer's firewall has the connection blocked.

Im running V1.3 i double checked. using a mac dont if this helps.

I had a problem with getting my wallet to sync, it was caused by my firewall blocking the network connection. (because of malware placing mining software on peoples computer)

I had to go into the firewall to manually enable the wallet, and it synced right up.
