This will only happen if there's some flaw in the code of the DEX. Yeah obviously its a work in progress but thusfar I've never heard a story of funds being stuck on a DEX and there's literally dozens of them out there now. Just ask people who buy and sell tokens with NXT or NEM... Never happened. ETH DEXs I can't vouch for.
