My miners are sitting in two different hosting facilities, and they are not willing to change once connected pools.

Did the (worse) pool required you to setup specific worker? Maybe you you can try to change the worker name or pass so it will be invalid and miner will switch to backup pool (if you set it as well).

I connected my D3 to miningrentals .. great feature is I can add new pools and switch to them without need to contact hosting provider.

Indeed, I put two different backup pools... But never used them. Thanks for the hint!
