I dont think you realise the magnitude of users that are developing the network for this coin. The shear number of volunteers behind this smashes any other coin out there. Bitcoin was orphaned in the same way earthcoin was...the creators have long gone...but now the community has taken over...no "team" of any coin will be able to match what a community can do.
