8 chips represent 8*2.7 = 21.6GH and cost 300$ so 13.88$ for a GH or 37$ per chip.

I must admit that the OC capabilities probably make good for the up charge per chip...

I wouldn't run at 2.7GH/s just because someone has managed that on a test setup. That's a serious overclock, the chips are designed to run at around 2GH/s

Yeah the only safe way to run them that high would be if the had a top facing thermal pad for a direct heat sink and not the bottom facing ground pad using the pcb as a heatsink. However if it was top pads ID throw on a water block and cool it that way. Lol
