Bitcoin is base on the law of demand and supply so I think if a lot of people will support bitcoin and start buying some for investment, the demand will really increase and will lead to lack in supply since number of bitcoin in the circulation is limited, and with that the value of bitcoin will have to increase so that the supply will become available in the market.
