Imagine the difference between your need of 7-10 points and than 100 merits, than 150 more and etc... It looks like to become Legend (not from the start) now you will need about a year or more... It is quite fair, but not for those who were 1 step from this rank)

It's much easier to receive likes on facebook then merit scores on bitcointalk.

I agree that here you need not only a good reputation to get merited, but also post something really useful. But as @veleten said later

I think it's close to truth because if you see high merited member you will give him some more much easily than you give it to newbie even if he is posting something clever (may be he is multi acc of any St Member who was despaired to rank up Embarrassed

And I still can't see a big difference except the hole amount of merits and the number of them that everyone has at their disposal. So in longterm due to merit emission (if it will not be controlled, but nobody won't know it Grin

) their price/weight will decrease and we will share them more often)

Nice try but this is not a good idea because newbies and jr members won't have the ability to start their own thread plus the activity here in the forum might decrease if it happens because not everyone here starts useless threads. Imo it'll do more harm than good for the forum and there's no need for this because we already have the report button for that if it's really getting out of hand.

I'm not sure that they have a big need of it) Most of questions where discussed in the forum more than one time and if they want to ask smthng they can do it in special threads. To addition we have special part of the forum for newbies, where they could post (when i was newbie I really thought that i could not write outside that part Lips sealed

And understood that it's fair, because I was much less experienced in this world).

About report button i think it is only for really outstanding events ant not for useless posts) In real world much more than half on spoken words are totally useless and many people are not worth listening but we hear them Sad

so i think it's ok to post any idea that you have, even you did not know much))
