Well, since you asked: I dont do drugs. If I did drugs, I would not have the technical prowess and writing ability which together have earned me 427 merit (and counting) within 18 days of active postingnumbers which currently put me as #5 on this list, whilst still at Member rank with 98 activity.

N.b., I am here discussing drugs which are strongly mind-altering (get you high). Contra much propaganda on the subject, there is a reason why certain things technically categorized as drugs are separated from others. I can sum up the matter succinctly, by example: In NASAs Mission Control room during the Apollo missions, there was always a forest of half-empty coffee cups and overflowing (tobacco cigarette) ashtrays. After a long shift in one of the worlds highest-pressure intellectual jobs, Id guess that some of those guys probably went for beers after work, too. But I guarantee you that not one of them ever did drugs in the sense people mean thatand moreover that if they had, then man never would have set foot on the moon.

To be clear, Im also not what I contemptuously call a Drug Warrior. There is a commonplace false dichotomy which pushes people to either condone drug use, or support idiotic régimes of laws which start by trying to stop people from willfully destroying themselves, and end by trying to ban strong crypto because (oh no!) drug dealers might use the tool of cryptography just as they use cars, postal scales, etc., etc. Meanwhile, drug laws in the form they exist today do little except help make drugs cool. Theres nothing beneficial about them.

Thus, speaking here only as to personal decisions and social mores:

If you say about drugs, Never tried them, then I say, good for you. Ive also never tried stabbing my own eye with a fork; its an experience I can do without. My opinion on this matter is quite strong. Ive written about this before; I will here quote only a brief excerpt, but I encourage you to read the whole thing:

Thats my advice/feedback. Youre bright. Youre pretty. You know how to have plenty of fun without drugs, to rather understate the matter (and as you may have noticedso do I). You have a knack for Bitcoin. And consistently with your interest in Bitcoin, you evidently desire a self-directed life. You have so much going for you. Please make the right decisions, and dont mess it all up like an irrevocable spend of your whole wallet to a burn address.

Thanks for the advice! I'd like to think of myself as someone with a decent amount of self-control, and in addition to that, most of my holidays are for 1-2 weeks. Back in Singapore, carrying even a few grams of weed by accident leads to a mandatory death sentence without trial, so I wouldn't dream of doing any drugs there. My physical circumstances disallow me from becoming addicted to any drugs (for now). I've heard great things about drugs and definitely want to have that experience at least once - I'm willing to accept what a single use of a drug does to me, and I've promised myself not to use dangerous drugs too often, if I am ever in a situation where I won't be killed for it. imo, it's a bit unfair to myself if I don't give myself an experience that is likened to an orgasm, but better.
