for the year 2018 I think it's not possible for eth to pass through bitcoin, because all altcoin prices depend on bitcoin prices. if the bitcoin drops then all altcoin also come down, although the decrease is different. and vice versa if bitcoin rises then altcoin prices also rise. so I think for this year bitcoin is still above. but I believe the next few years eth can overtake the bitcoin.
