Thanks. This post
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=241652.msg2662693#msg2662693 said there was a minimum £20 order, although I can't find that on the site. Then I'm looking at about £60 for the hot air, solder pump, solder and flux. So I just thought for 7 sticks it's not worth it. But I do really want to give it a go (I'm a geek) so I might just waste my money for the fun of it. I'm undecided so I'm opening o bottle of wine to think it over.
Ic. Yea, it's not worthwhile to get the whole set (hot air gun, pump, paste and flux) if you only using it for 7 miners...
how is your setup?
what cgminer version?
are the 440 mh/s the 5 seconds or the avarange value?
cause with the 5 seconds value i also get 440 mh/s but avarange is only 380 mh/s.
i did set --icarus-timing short=90
but same result...
but my settings must be ok, cause the others have 333 mh/s.
i also use a 16.000 mhz oscillator and a 1.3 k resistor for r1.
BFGMiner 3.1.4 with Raspberry Pi
All time average.
I'm using CGMiner 3.4.0 on my laptop for testing and yes, u need to specify --icarus-timing short instead... Or it's just 360-380MH/s..
yes I did. it took a bit longer as the heatsink does absorb some of the heat but it still works.
Something noob I did when I'm heating the R1 resistor... I used the hot air gun to heat up the R1 for like 5 mins but it still hard like rock... Puzzling me alot and I even increase the temp to 350... Burn until the 7500 number disappear from the resistor... Then i found out... I am actually heating up the marble table instead... LOL
