I saw something similar and then changed from "-asm 2" back to "-asm 1" and the single mining went back up where it should have been.

Agreed, for modern cards this will worsen them. Also for all my RX-570's my hash rate went up from 29.2 to 29.9 and just over 30 in some cases, it did almost nothing noticeable for my 560's and my one 580 went from just 30 to 30.192. The big increased for me were my 570's. The 4 of those in total are giving me an extra 3mh. Also I dual mine with one rig and solo mine with another(PSU no large enough to dual mine) I have never used the new ASM option 2 as it is for older cards.
My Solo Mining Rig has 3 570s and 1 580 and pulls 540w at the wall, that rig gives me 120mh/s
