I did not accuse anybody of abuse, and I'm sorry that you interpreted it that way. As I wrote, the general minimum interval was raised in order to prevent the possibility of abuse. In no way did I imply that everybody who had set a short payout interval was abusing the system. The problem is that the number of payouts was steadily increasing, and in some cases it was starting to resemble transaction spam. I'm sorry that you found the new rules confusing, and I agree that we could have posted a note in the news about it (we're certainly going to when the new rules are finalized), but nothing was "obscured". The change was documented in the Account Settings right where the minimum payout interval is set, and I've been answering all questions about it openly and honestly.

I think most of the confusion comes from a misunderstanding. The interval that users can set in their accounts is the minimum interval between automatic payouts (that's why it says "hours minimum"); it's been that way since the setting was introduced, and has been documented both in the Account Settings and on the Payments page ever since. The setting was introduced so that users could avoid receiving payouts more frequently than desired. There was never any guarantee that payouts would be issued at exactly that interval, even though when the payout threshold is met that is almost always the case in practice. Therefore, the recent change did not breach the previous "contract" in the least: if you opted not to receive payments more frequently than once every 2 hours, that is still the case even if your minimum auto-payout interval has been changed to 6 hours. This is the reason why we did not deem it necessary to make a post about the change.

Some final remarks:

The minimum payout threshold was not changed, and we have no intention of raising it.
The minimum payout interval was actually lowered from 2 hours to 30 minutes.
As far as I know, we are still paying out way more frequently than all other major Litecoin pools.
