Its kinda hard to invest on altcoins today since their value is very volatile. I have many erc 20 coins on my ethereum wallet and its value was already at 3k$ but the red market is still a nigthmare and today the value of my coins in my portfolio is 1300$. The only surviving cryptocoin is bitcoin since after the huge drop its value has stabilized around 9k$ to 10k$. So I guess it is safe to invest in bitcoins right now than to invest on alts.

Yeah there are lots of ICOs started their free sale you can invest them because ICOs whose working product is very profitable once crowd sales completed you can earn much than bitcoin can offer because coins with valuable products is never affected with volatility.
