I believe you mean the state of California, and New York. But, I agree. Spending the money on charities is definitely the right way to go, but you need to spend money on the right charities.

When I wrote "LA", I meant Latin America, as the situation in this relatively small region, has a great impact all over the world.

I am convinced that crypto-community, as composed by a class of people with a clear interest for a high-tech, less polluted, less fossil-fuel-dependent planet -and with a well differentiated level of instruction when compared with oilmen and politicians- could play a relevant role in fixing up the mess that human kind has been doing during the last century.
