It's ridiculous if you can earn merits by following DarkStar guides. It is simply his effort to troll spammers.

No trolling, it's simply pointing out the best way to get merits would be to post dumb threads if theymos implemented a system that gave merits based on views and replies. Hence, the "If this was implemented". This is a legit suggestion though.
