I usually use PoS or masternode or airdrop event to know the time I should to buy a cryptocurrency. Because these things are the factor to make the price of any cryptocurrency increase. Sometimes, the price of cryptocurrency can be low after airdrop, but for a long time, when it dumped to the lowest price and no one cares it, its value will comeback and increase to the moon, example Stellar.
