Not sure about Slushs Pool specifically, but in other pools you also need to configure a "worker access" for you miner program, which is usually different from your pool account. You use the pool login to manage your intermediary BTC account and such, while the miner uses the worker access to request work and submit solved hashes.

Yeah, I set up a worker through slush, and entered the appropriate login info & P-word in GUIMiner, but I get the same thing: "connecting..." is up there for hours. I don't know what's up. Although, this may be the problem: today, trying to point a browser at the slush site, it either doesn't load, or loads DRAMATICALLY slow. IDK, it's getting frustrating though. I guess they were right when they said "mining ain't easy" I can't even get it to work at ALL, LOL
