have you tried coin B with some of the cgminer --help options like "--no-getwork, --no-stratum, --no-longpoll" ? try with those flags, some old scrypt coins and coins in general have this needed, but i think it was phased out in most new miners with stratum
ive had this problem before, i cant remember if those flags or the "--coinbase-address=" fixed it tho Tongue
