GAS is a good altcoin on it's own and does a lot better than many coins that are set up as individual projects + ICO + private investors. Holding NEO gives you this GAS for free so it is used as both gas fees and as a store of value. Can't get much better than a two for one coin - both of which are very good.

It was projected that once all NEO based tokens go fully utilized, GAS may become more valuable than NEO itself.

I can see it happening since there is only 17.2 million GAS token max supply and after a while they will stop producing them. It will get burned when used as well (only a small percentage is re-cycled) so it's value may skyrocket in the future given the amount of NEO based ICOs or new tokens coming out now.
