When a post is deleted by the mods, OP gets a personal message containing the deleted post. Nothing is destroyed.
I'm not defending anyone, but nothing sinister or interesting has happened in this particular instance. Mods delete posts they consider inappropriate all the time, that's simply the daily grind of a forum.
