Yeah I know that feel of using Linux for the first time. Insanely, insanely, hairpulling frustrating compared to any other OS if you are trying to get simple things to work. If you want to play new games with your fancy graphics cards on Linux, good luck on that too, it will be harder to install and get it to run properly than what you are doing now.

In my opinion it's better to invest $40 to buy Windows and install CG miner in less than 5 minutes rather than have to deal with Linux spending 20+ hours reading a manual and spending another 10 hours of compiling and trying to get it to run correctly for the first time. It's frustrating just to install CGMiner, good luck installing drivers for devices that do not come with a linux installation version.

Also Windows isn't for porn or games... I haven't done either in a very long time and I use Windows a lot. It depends on the user. If you're using it to watch porn and play games then with a Linux most likely you will use it for the same purpose.
