Thank you for your reply, I am aware of this news that was released back then. What I mean by my question is, has anyone tried the switching and does it works smoothly? I tried the waves block explorer to see if they have an transaction to eth address to indicate that there's already someone sending and succeeded, but I can't find any, so I don't think I know how to navigate around waves explorer.

The process works, yes. Once you move from waves chain to ethereum chain you can store in MEW.
