Individuals yes but public companies are already public knowledge. There are public records of the address, name, phone number of public companies so hiding that information is pointless. Then again if you are running a scam it isn't pointless. Still I wouldn't say it is 100% proof of a scam but it certainly is suspect.

No real reason to hide the names and addresses on domain registration simply because even if they were hidden those same names, addresses, and phone numbers would be visible on countless other public docs.
