People's taxes are the source of corruption to some government officials in almost all countries. We can count on our fingers those countries which are not corrupt. But definitely the purpose of tax is run the government, paying for the compensation of it's official is one of them and if only government is not corrupt, countries will be progressive with the tax paid by it's citizen alone.

When money is involve we really can't deny the fact that those powerful ones who are on the position will transform into evil ones. Supposedly these taxes are used for road repair, maintain our economy, etc.
