We must always deal with the issue of copyright / patents vs economic interests + social benefits. Technology support & transfer is a great contribution to society and the community, benefiting people and owners of those patents. In addition, this creates competition - the dynamics of development.

well personally i think is a tech is patented and still given out free to people it can benefit more . some times for the uplift of the society one should keep the economic interests aside . but then organicco is no ngo and has bill to pay so it makes sense to make the patents economically viable
