No, I have not had this experience as well. I know the guys who never had any problems with this but I am not sure that this is something which is very safe.

I tried this long ago as one of my friend told me that she needs money so she exchanges bitcoin, to be honest according to me it is not good, I have exchanges my bitcoin face to face at that time, but as I said I did not likes it so I dont change too many bitcoin safe to face, I know it is safe and easy but I want bitcoin to become famous and stable in my country.
