At least let someone know that you have an active investment so that if anything bad happen to you. You don't need to go into details. Someone can recover what you have left behind. Your investment will go to waste if no one can recover it and use it for what ever purpose. Consider it as something that a loved one can inherit.

My wife knows that I have Bitcoins but she doesn't know how much its worth now and many. All she knows is I have a Bitcoin. I have a book that contains passwords and instructions on how to recover those coins. Its up to her if she wants to recover it now while I'm still around.

This is important and one of the greatest problems with cryptocurrencies, the risk of losing your money if something happened to you and you do not leave detailed instructions about how to recover those coins is great but at the same time if you give those instructions away and the person you give those instructions decides to steal from you that person can do it with impunity.
