Russia are clearly the favorites today, no doubt about that. And this is the match they need to win, might be the only chance they have at getting 3 points in this group. Also, this could be one of the worst opening match in the WC history, I think people will be much more interested in watching the opening ceremony than the actual match lol

I think this is the first time Russia is hosting this big event so they don't like to disappoint the home team that's why the 1st match is b/w Russia vs SA in this match surely the home team will win, it's a full meal for host team fans.

Dont underestimate the Saudi... they played tight games with both France and Italy where they scored in both games...

You are right that Saudi scored goal on both matches against big team like Italy but that was on friendly match only where most team is trying to get their best stategy and squad.
The real match has just begun, lets watch and we will see how far Saudi can make in this event. I do not underestimate them but it is realistic if most people bet on Russia to win the match because they are still better team than Saudi IMO and they are playing at their own home with so many fanatic supporters which is another advantage for them.
