Welcome to the forum. You can learn more about cryptocurrencies by reading more threads here in bitcointalk but I strongly suggest that you focus reading threads on bitcoin discussion, altcoin section, speculation and speculation(altcoins) section to get the gist of what cryptocurrencies are and how it works.
