Unfortunately, patterns don't exist in football, every match is different, every team is different, and every competition is different, so we can't really compare that Portugal with this Argentina. I think Argentina is going to qualify to the RO16, but I don't see them winning the whole thing, they've been looking awful so far.

If Argetina wins next tuesday and Iceland loses, Argentina advances to the RO16. If Iceland wins, Argentina would need to score 1 more goal than Iceland to advance to the next round. So, realistically, Argentina still have a chance of qualifying to the next round.

Nothing new. He dissapeared in the WC 2014 final vs Germany, and in the two Copa America finals against Chile. I think the whole world ~~secretly~~ knows Messi chokes in the big stages with the NT. And he's comfortable in Barcelona because he's surrounded by world class players, in Argentina he has Salvio, Rojo, Mascherano, Meza, Salvio, Acuña, Aguero (another player who chokes with the NT), etc.
