Bitcoins purpose isnt to be a regulated fiat. Its purpose is to be decentralized. If Bitcoin lost that decentralization, and consequently became a regulated fiat currency, it would no longer be Bitcoin.

The whole experiment hinges on decentralization, and things such as regulation and legal tender are completely polar to that.
