I have been in a lot of forums and I have never seen this merit system. It is kinda strange. I get why bitcointalk is doing it, and it seems fair. Dont fool yourself into thinking theres anything magical about being Legendary. Some of the biggest idiots on this forum are Legendary rank. Most of the real badassed scammers, crooks and thieves are Legendary and date back to the very first days of this forums inception.

Completely agree. It is absurd that a scammer can have a Legendary rank. This could be easily avoided by implementing "negative merits".

Maybe those "negative merits" could be given only by legendary rank or something like that, in order to avoid spam or something similar (like bcash-reddit-spammers Grin
