Probably but some people have a nature of wanting to find an easy way to get money so even gambling did not exist, those who are supposed to be gamblers will flock into creating ponzi schemes like online investments scams and pyramiding.

Who does not want free or easy . Every one in this world would love if they can find out the way to get the free money or so. But then smart people or rationale people know what is gambling all about and why it should be used for. Only people who do not have much control on them self want to make money from this gambling forgetting that losing the money is very easy than making it.
