Oddly enough it loads the first entries just fine, but gekko fails on the last (most recent) candles, retries a few times and then shuts down.I assume there are no connectivity or DNS issues, otherwise it wouldnt be able to download the first 99 candles.

I also really don't like their API, hopefully I'll get the new method working quickly.
