Countries banning the use of bitcoin for transactions is as a result of the fear that bitcoin will cure the corrupt system and expose how unreliable the centralized system is. Bitcoin is the vehicle as you stated, let's control, drive and fuel it more to help increase the awareness and make people invest in it.

While I am in favor if bitcoin , but countries are neither completely right nor wrong . Instead of ban they should regulate it . USA and Japans are best example how they not involve in choice of people , at the same time SEC control and catch bad people . but countries who don't want to do efforts simply ban it without thinking that it can not be banned effectively .
