I have tried to used bitcoin to buy altcoins at each other advantage but it has not worked perfectly for me as it seen no much opportunities to do that. Bitcoin will ever be dragging other coins along so I think buying and holding should be the best options. If you know how to margin trade, I think it is another option for you too.

The right time to buy bitcoin is always deped the price. I believe that no one want to buy bitcoin of its price is really high it is too risky. So then I believe that buying is always depend on the present price of bitcoin because if we are going to buy it on cheaper price we can vet a discount on it and our risk is really low than buying it with high price.
